Turning negative into positive.

Any good mathematician will tell you that two negatives make a positive. And physically the positive sign (+) is made up of two negative signs(-,-)All you have to do is turn one on its side, put it on top of the other and there you have it....Positive. The point is this. There are negative things all around us and it is up to us to bring the positive to the top. We have to "accentuate the positive" as the song goes.

On this of all days it is easy to slip into the negative mode. With so much negativity that happened on that day, those horrible images are burned in our head and may be there forever. However on that day there were also many positive things that happened. There were miracle stories of survival, brave people who gave it all, people helping people and more people praying than ever before. We should never forget the things that happened that day and we probably never will but we can remember the hero's like firemen, policemen and everyday citizens who did so much help out that day.

Have a Blessed day,
Greg

  1. Amen!

We have our flag up and will make sure that we pray today for all of the Policemen, Firefighters, and all of our Armed Forces Servicemen to keep them safe from harm and to come home soon! Thanks for keeping it (+) positive!

  2. Greg,

Yup, like Steve said the colors are flying boldly from our homes. It is funny however that most are not even though they did on Monday! Go figure. However today, we will remember those times when our country stood united that fateful day.

  3. I just commented over at Heart2Heart on this and I guess I'll be saying the same thing on every comment, as it pertains to 9-11, as I can't get it out of my head now- BUT I was thinking that in Biblical times when things were going fairly well for the people of God, that's when they let their eyes and hearts wander into unrighteous territory- borrowing the gods of their neighbors and worshipping them etc. But. When things became completely desperate and there was simply nowhere real to turn- they'd cry out to God. I see similarities between that and our nation in the aftermath of 9-11. Somehow I think all people, created by God in the first place, have something in their very depths that knows He is the only real comforter, keeper, sustainer and ruler of everything. Their only hope.

  4. Many folks came together that day, stopping what they were doing to pray and focus on what's really important in life. Some good certainly came out of that tragic event.
