My mother used to say that all the time. However she was never very good at taking her own advice. Sometimes we are forced to work with and associate with Dogs. There isn't much we can do about that since most of us need the money to survive. However we do have the ability to speak out against hatred, anger and wicked ways. And away from work we can chose the people we associate with. I chose you.
Psalms 1:
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
GOD grant me the strength and wisdom so speak out against the evil in this world.
Amen
Have a Blessed day,
Greg

Greg,
ReplyDeleteWell we choose you right on back. Since we don't have dogs and being in the desert believe it or not our cats don't even have fleas.
Must leave you with a little funny today since you made me smile.
One day a rather inebriated ice fisherman drilled a hole in the ice and peered into the hole and a loud voice said, "There are no fish down there."
He walked several yards away and drilled another hole and peered into the hole and again the voice said, "There's no fish down there."
He then walked about 50 yards away and drilled another hole and again the voice said, "There's no fish down there."
He looked up into the sky and asked, "God, is that you?"
"No, you idiot," the voice said, "it's the rink manager."

You know, this post reminded me of a poem my FIL had...here it is for your amusement:
ReplyDelete"Judged By The Company One Keeps"
One night in late October,
When I was far from sober,
Returning with my load with manly pride,
My feet began to stutter,
So I lay down in the gutter,
And a pig came near and lay down by my side;
A lady passing by was heard to say;
"You can tell a man who boozes,
By the company he chooses,"
And the pig got up and slowly walked away.

Hi there! Blog hopping from Kat's place.
ReplyDeleteMy husband works in a negative environment (management/casino) and it bring conviction within him all the time. Of course in this economy, we need the income and are thankful that he has a job. I believe that God is control and when he wants my husband out of there, he will make provisions.....until then, we have to trust and believe that he is there to be the Light in a dark place.
Just keep the headphoones in and the view positive....and maybe print this Psalms out and hang it up too!!
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteLove those verses! I did a devotion w/ my children using them!!
ReplyDeleteHi. all week I've been thinking how there is a church on almost every corner and yet so many people live in darkness with pain and hurt and brokenness. I want to be radical for Him. I don't just want to say I'm a believer. This is right on what you wrote. Thanks Greg. I needed it. Sarah
ReplyDeleteNice post Greg.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of catching up to do everywhere around blog world. Wanted to drop by and say hello.
This fall, this winter, will I find myself more involved, I hope so.
I have to remember to visit this blog more often; it's full of everything good!
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic weekend, amigo! :)
"And he is as a tree..." There's fruit for God in keeping ourselves from impure environments.
ReplyDeleteI choose you too Greg. Thankfully we only have to work with the people at our jobs. We don't have to associate closely with them if it's not what's best for anyone.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is beginning well!
Oh, my dog doesn't have fleas. :)
